Abstract

The increasing adoption of cloud-based enterprise analytics has created significant opportunities for organizations to extract intelligence from distributed data sources, but it has also intensified concerns regarding data privacy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance. Traditional centralized analytics requires sensitive enterprise data to be transferred to a common cloud repository, creating potential exposure risks and increasing the complexity of data governance. Federated Learning (FL) provides an alternative approach by enabling machine-learning models to be trained across distributed data sources while keeping the underlying data within their original environments. This paper investigates the application of federated learning for privacy-preserving enterprise analytics in secure cloud intelligence applications. The proposed approach combines distributed model training, secure communication, privacy-enhancing mechanisms, aggregation techniques, and cloud-based orchestration to support collaborative analytics without requiring direct exchange of raw enterprise data. The research methodology evaluates the architecture in terms of privacy preservation, model performance, communication efficiency, scalability, and operational security. Particular attention is given to challenges associated with non-identically distributed enterprise data, heterogeneous computing environments, communication overhead, model poisoning, and inference attacks. The study argues that federated learning can provide a practical foundation for secure enterprise intelligence when combined with appropriate encryption, differential privacy, access control, monitoring, and governance mechanisms. The resulting framework supports collaborative intelligence while maintaining greater control over sensitive organizational data.
